EASY OFF oven cleaner is toxic

Easy-Off Fume Free Max oven cleaner review

Easy-Off is a household name in oven cleaning, with this product - a smoke-free, non-caustic formula that works wonders on dirty stoves. Easy-Off Fume Free Oven Cleaner makes cleaning the oven a much easier task.

Simply spray onto the product, leave to stand overnight and gently wipe off any leftover food. Reapply if necessary on difficult areas. It really was that simple. And to top it off, you don't need four fans, dozens of open windows, and a gas mask to get the job done.

Oven cleaning isn't your most beloved chore, but this product makes it a normal oven cleaning chore instead of an entirely horrific activity.

Easy-Off: use

  • Read all instructions carefully.
  • Put in a cold oven.
  • Close the oven door. DO NOT switch the oven on or activate the self-cleaning cycle of your oven.
  • Wait two hours to overnight for a full cleaning or at least 30 minutes for a simple stain cleaning.
  • Open the oven door and wipe it with a damp sponge or cloth and rinse it repeatedly.

  • There are no harsh or toxic fumes.
  • Easy-Off Fume Free Oven Cleaning can be used on self-cleaning ovens without a self-cleaning cycle.
  • It works well on even the most baked-on food. That includes the big mac and cheese debacle that boiled and coated the whole oven!

  • This product must sit overnight for best results.

Easy-off Fume Free Max Oven Cleaner: Review

It's amazing how easily small pieces of food can turn into black cement that is glued to the oven surface.

This is a disaster that even baking soda cannot fix. However, the fumes from a cleaner can work a million times worse than the smoke produced when the charred remains are reused every time the stove is used.

I was skeptical of a "smokeless" oven cleaner, but this product is the closest I've ever used.

The underframe of a double oven was the test case for the Easy-off Fume Free Max oven cleaner. The bottom of the stove was completely covered with thick black debris; It was a tough job and the best I hoped for was that after a few uses and a lot of scrubbing, I'd be able to see clues of the original finish.

The cleaner was sprayed according to the instructions and the oven door was closed for the night. When I opened it I started cleaning it up and any charred food just stuck away from the oven surface. After wiping the oven, just a few tiny stains on the floor needed a more thorough scrubbing. With a little more effort, these stains will also be wiped away.

The bottom line: while the ease of cleaning is a big selling point, the best part of the process was that I needed minimal ventilation and was able to clean the oven without irritating my eyes, lungs, or skin. You will still need to take precautions regarding contact with the detergent, but overall "smoke free" lives up to its name. This is definitely the list of the most popular oven cleaners.
