Maintain the shine of metal surfaces for years

Profiles, door handles, hinges and fittings generally consist of coated surfaces such as chrome-plated brass or anodized aluminum. In order to be able to enjoy the beauty of these surfaces for many years, a few points must be taken into account when cleaning:

Chromed surfaces
For regular maintenance it is sufficient to clean them with water, soapy water or hand rinse and a soft cloth. A commercially available sanitary cleaner based on citric acid is recommended to remove limescale deposits.

Use only special cleaning agents
You can identify appropriate cleaners by referring to the manufacturer's instructions on the back label, which indicate the agents to use on appropriate surfaces. Read carefully the instructions for the specific application and the correct dosage.
After cleaning, the surfaces must always be rinsed thoroughly with clear water and dried with a soft, dry cloth.

Avoid certain active ingredients
Some bathroom cleaners contain active ingredients that can cause irreversible damage to the treated surfaces. These active ingredients include:
  • Acetic acid (also known as ethanoic acid or acidic acetic acid)
  • Hydrochloric acid (hydrochloric acid, acidum hydrochloricum)
  • Formic acid (methanoic acid, formylic acid, formalic acid, hydrocarbon acid)
  • Chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide bleach solution)
  • Phosphoric acid (E 338).

In any case, avoid detergents that contain these substances. These can attack the surface and quickly lead to visible impairments.
Mixing different detergents should also be avoided as the different active ingredients can react with one another and develop harmful fumes.

Use lint-free cloths for cleaning. Sponges with scratchy surfaces and rough cloths are not suitable for cleaning sensitive surfaces.

Clean glass surfaces

A few useful tips to make your shower last longer

AQUAPERLE is not a self-cleaning coating; it reduces limescale and other dirt on the glass
Cleaning and care are therefore also essential for glass coated with AQUAPERLE:
  • AQUAPERLE-coated glass is best cleaned with a damp cotton cloth, sponge or squeegee.
  • Regular cleaning immediately after showering reduces limescale deposits and other soiling right from the start.
  • For thorough cleaning, use the SanSwiss sanitary cleaner or a non-aggressive, commercially available cleaning agent that does not affect the surface of the glasses.
  • Never use harsh household cleaning agents or brushes, which can damage the coating.
  • Rinse the glasses of your shower cubicle with clear water after each cleaning and dry the surface with a soft cloth.
  • We recommend that you only use tried and tested SanSwiss cleaning agents for cleaning SanSwiss shower partitions, the use of which extends the service life of the AQUAPERLE coating and the glass itself.
