Many fans misunderstand these ten things from "Harry Potter":

"Harry Potter": The Deathly Hallows

We learn the story of the legendary Deathly Hallows in the last part of the saga. In it, death grants three brothers one wish each. The first wanted the most powerful wand ever - the elder wand. The second wanted a stone that would bring the dead back to life - the stone of resurrection. The third and youngest member of the group wanted a cloak with which he could hide himself from death. Thus he received death's own invisibility cloak.

Without knowing it, we were introduced to one of the sanctuaries in the first part: Harry's Invisibility Cloak. The Resurrection Stone is discovered by Dumbledore when he destroys the Gaunt Ring (a Horcrux). The curse that was supposed to protect the Horcrux, however, passes to Dumbledore. Snape can limit the curse to Dumbledore's hand and thus gives the headmaster another year of life. Dumbledore then bequeaths the ring to Harry, who then leaves the stone in the forbidden forest after using it once. Probably the most important artifact for history, however, is the elder wand, which was initially in Dumbledore's possession. However, when Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) disarms him in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", the affiliation of the wand changes. Ultimately, however, Harry owns the Elder Wand because he disarms Draco in a fight. Lord Voldemort assumes, however, that the Elder Wand feels belonging to Snape, since he killed Dumbledore and therefore has him murdered by Nagini.

What does Severus Snape have to do with the ending of "Harry Potter"?

Severus Snape was probably never Harry's favorite professor, and that dislike seemed to be mutual. However, with a tear full of memories Harry previously received from Snape, the professor is able to reveal his true loyalty. In Albus Dumbledore's Pensieve, Harry sees that Snape protected him all his life out of love for his mother Lily. He also finds out that Snape killed Dumbledore on his orders, since the old headmaster only had one year to live anyway. The biggest revelation, however, is that Harry is Voldemort's last unknown Horcrux. When Harry finds out, he decides to sacrifice himself before the battle for Hogwarts breaks out again.

"Harry Potter": The Horcruxes

In the sixth film, we learn that Voldemort intended to split his soul into seven Horcruxes. The first Horcrux was destroyed in the second part when Harry wiped out Riddle's diary in the Chamber of Secrets with a basilisk tooth. Other horcruxes are the Gaunt Ring, Salazar Slytherin's medallion, Helga Hufflepuff's mug, Rowena Ravenclaw's tiara, Voldemort's snake Nagini and Harry Potter himself. The last Horcrux in the form of Harry was created when Voldemort tried to close it for the first time kill. But why did Lord Voldemort want to kill little Harry in the first place? The trigger for this is a prophecy from Professor Trelawney (Emma Thompson), which Harry learns in the fifth part of the series. It says:

“The one with the power to defeat the Dark Lord is approaching. Born to those who stood up to him three times, born when the seventh month dies. And the Dark Lord will mark Him as an equal, but He will have a power that the Dark Lord does not know. And one must die at the hand of the other, because neither can live while the other survives. The one with the power to defeat the Dark Lord will be born when the seventh month dies ”

How did Harry Potter survive Voldemort's killing curse in the Forbidden Forest?

When Lily Potter sacrificed herself to protect her son, she triggered the most powerful form of magic: love. This love protected Harry not only in the first part. The protection lived on in Harry's aunt Petunia and this would last as long as Harry calls the Dursleys home his home. So the wards should have ended when Harry left the Dursley's house. But it turned out differently: In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" Voldemort used Harry's blood to create a new body. With Harry's blood in his veins, the magic lived on in him, which is why he couldn't kill Harry in the forbidden forest. Instead, he destroyed part of his own soul that lived in Harry. And because Harry faced the Dark Lord without resistance, another protective spell was created that was valid for all survivors in the castle.
