How can I do my homework earlier?

sofatutor magazine student

Life could be so good if it weren't for homework. But the faster the work is done, the more time there is for beautiful things. Here are tips on how to finish your homework.

Fixed time

Think of a fixed time when you start your homework every day. If you stick to the time every day, it will be easier for you to do the work in a concentrated manner, because your head will then know: "Now I have to work, because now it's working time!"

Work before pleasure

You probably know the saying “work first, then pleasure”. So it means that the earlier you start and finish your homework, the more you have left of the day for the nice things - and the homework can no longer spoil your mood.

With fun to learning success - that's how it's done

Use high concentration

Many students are best able to do their homework after taking a short break after lunch, as this helps them concentrate. Maybe this is the best working time for you. But if you find that you can't sit still after lunch, you may have to let off steam outside before doing your homework. Then you should really sit down in the evening and do the tasks - until then, the television is taboo.

Perfectly happy

Before you go to work, you should be awake and full. You should also put a bottle of water at your work place when you are thirsty, so that you don't have to get up again and again. For the same reason, you should go to the bathroom again before doing homework. So nothing can stop you from working.

Same place

Not only should you do your homework at the same time each day, but also in the same place. Find a place where you feel most comfortable, because then solving tasks will be easier. Some students like to sit at the kitchen table because they want to be around others. Others are better able to work alone and therefore like to sit in a quiet room.

Decent workplace

It's also important that nothing at work distracts you from doing homework. Therefore, you should only have what you really need for the tasks on the table. A decent workplace is the be-all and end-all in learning.

Don't move anything!

Do the homework you can do in one day that same day, even if you don't need it until two days later. It can always be that at the last minute something unexpected comes up and you don't do your homework after all. In addition, on this day you still have in mind what you discussed about homework in class, which makes solving the tasks much easier.

Structure the mountain of tasks

You only see a mountain of tasks ahead of you and you don't know where to start? Make a list of what you do when and then you just work through the list task by task. So the mountain isn't that bad anymore. The following applies to the order: Think about whether you want to do the stupid and difficult tasks first so that you can do them quickly or whether you would rather do the nice tasks first because you will then be more motivated to start with your homework.

The successful list

Cross out every completed task on a list or in your homework book. This gives you a precise overview of what you have already achieved and what is still ahead of you. You can also look forward to every completed task!

Complete with the bag packing

So that the topic of school is finally closed for the day, pack your school bag for the next day after completing your homework. So you don't have to waste your thoughts on school and homework again that day. And then the beautiful part of the day can finally begin.
