The prophecy about Immanuel

Isa 7.1At the time when Ahaz the son of Jotam the son of Uziah was king of Judah, Rezin the king of Aram and Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel went to war against Jerusalem; but they could not take the city.Isa 7.2When it was reported to the house of David, "Aram has allied himself with Ephraim!" The heart of the king and the heart of his people trembled as the trees of the forest tremble in the wind.Isa 7.3But the Lord said to Isaiah: Go out to Walkerfeldstrasse, together with your son Shear-Jaschub (a remnant turns back), to the end of the water pipe of the upper pond, to meet Ahaz.Isa 7.4Tell him: keep calm, do not be afraid! Let your heart not despair because of these two logs, these smoking stumps, because of the glowing anger of Rezins of Aram and the son of Remaliah.Isa 7.5It is true that Aram, Ephraim and the son of Remaliah plan evil against you and say:Isa 7,6We want to go against Judah, usurp it and conquer it for us; then we want to make Tabeal's son king there.Isa 7.7But thus says the Lord God: It will not happen / it will not happen.Isa 7,8For the head of Aram is Damascus / and the head of Damascus is Rezin. Sixty-five more years and Ephraim will be smashed, / they will cease to be a people.Isa 7,9The head of Ephraim is Samaria / and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. / If you don't believe, you won't stay.Isa 7:10The Lord spoke again to Ahaz; he said:Isa 7:11Ask the Lord your God for a sign, be it from below, from the underworld, or from above, from on high.Isa 7:12Ahaz replied: I will not ask for anything or test the Lord.Isa 7:13Isaiah said, `` Listen, you of the house of David! Isn't it enough for you to molest people? Do you still have to bother my God?Isa 7.14That is why the Lord will give you a sign of his own accord: Look, the virgin will conceive, she will give birth to a son and she will give him the name Immanuel (God with us).Isa 7.15He will eat butter and honey until he knows how to reject evil and choose what is good.Isa 7.16Because even before the child knows how to reject the bad and choose the good, the land will be desolate, in front of whose two kings the horror grabs you.Isa 7.17The Lord will bring days to come upon you and your people and your father's house [through the king of Assyria] such as have not been seen since Ephraim fell away from Judah.Isa 7.18On that day the Lord will whistle for the flies at the mouths of the Nile in Egypt and for the bees in the land of Assyria,Isa 7.19and all come and sit down in the ravines and crevices, in all the hedges, and in all the watering places.Isa 7:20In that day the Lord will shave your head and shave your pubic hair with the knife that he bought on the other side of Eufrat [with the king of Assyria]; he also cuts off the beard.Isa 7:21On that day a man will only keep a young cow and a couple of sheep.Isa 7:22But they will give so much milk that you can eat butter. Yes, all that is left in the land eat butter and honey.Isa 7:23On that day every piece of land on which there are now a thousand vines worth a thousand pieces of silver will be full of thorns and thistles.Isa 7:24You only go there with a bow and arrow; for all the land is full of thorns and thistles.Isa 7.25For fear of the thorns and thistles, one does not go up any more of all the mountains that are still being worked with the hoe. The cattle are driven there and the sheep are allowed to graze there.
