Prof. Dr. Martin Fassnacht holds the chair for business administration, especially marketing and trade (Otto Beisheim endowed chair) at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar / Koblenz. He is also spokesman for the Marketing and Sales Group, scientific director of the Center for Market-Oriented Management (ZMU), chairman of the advisory board of the Henkel Center for Consumer Goods (HCCG) and a scientific member of the advisory board of RUNDSCHAU for the food trade. Prof. Fassnacht also works as a strategic advisor for consumer goods, retail and service companies. Based on his brand identity “We inspire Marketing”, he and his team provide impulses for research, practice and teaching in the areas of price management, trade marketing, brand and luxury brand management and market-oriented corporate management.
Before his appointment at WHU, Prof. Fassnacht took over the representation of the marketing chair at the University of Paderborn, after working as a scientific assistant at the chair for marketing of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian Homburg initially worked at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and then at the University of Mannheim. The study of business administration and the habilitation took place at the University of Mannheim, the doctorate at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Martin Fassnacht was visiting scholar at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, USA and at the McCombs School of Business - The University of Texas at Austin, Austin, USA. He is also the author of numerous publications in refereed national and international journals.
The aim of research at Professor Fassnacht's chair is to work on scientifically sound management-relevant issues in the areas of price management, trade marketing, brand and luxury brand management and market-oriented corporate management.
