Sticky Rice is a special type of rice that is not cooked, but steamed. This gives it a particularly sticky consistency. A ripe mango cut into strips is served with it and a sweet and lightly salted sauce is served Coconut milk.
This combination is so tempting that we found it really difficult not to hit Thailand's countless food stalls every single evening. 😉

How good does a curry have to be to get it from CNN to tastiest food in the world is crowned? Correct! Simply unbelievably fine! The Thai Massaman curry (in Thai Gaeng) not only made it into the TOP 50 of the world's best dishes, but also made it to first place.

The thai papaya salad Som Tam is the one Street food classics absolutely and hellishly spicy! At every food market you can see the huge mortars in which the salad is freshly prepared throughout the evening.
First, soaked shrimp, chilies and garlic are ground into a paste. Then there are green, still unripe papayas as well as snake beans, cocktail tomatoes, a little sugar and lime juice.
Finally, the salad is seasoned with fish sauce.
Som Tam can taste quite strict in the original, but Lovers swear by him. By the way, if you don't like it that spicy, this can usually be taken into account. 😉 Som Tam is still in 46th place on CNN.

Rice noodles are fried in a wok with fish sauce and oyster sauce.

Gaeng Panaeng is a thai chicken curry. The basis is coconut cream, shrimp paste, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and lemongrass. It is relatively mild and its consistency is more similar to the sliced meat we know, but its taste is much more refined.
The meal is garnished with green Thai basil and fried chicken (Gai). A pleasure for all non-vegetarians! 🙂
