Beat Odds, the son of an autorickshaw driver cracked the CAT in 2016 and joined IIM Rohtak's post-graduate program. Sukesh Kumar Thogaru, 25, comes from a humble background whose father ran into financial losses in the business. But the financial debt could not deter the ambitions of the Thogaru. “My father was running a business that was losing money. I was in grade 3 then. We were bankrupt, and to manage expenses and pay the debts, he bought a car and started moving goods. It was a difficult time. Basic necessities like TV, fancy geometry box were a distant dream, ”said Thogaru.
Born and raised in Warangal, Sukesh and his older brother focused on your studies since you knew that this was the only way you can get rid of your problems. “Despite the financial constraints my father made sure that we attend school regularly. He somehow managed to pay our fees, working day and night and taking out loans, ”he said.
Sukesh scored over 80 percent in grade 12. To make sure he didn't add stress to his parents, he also stopped the students. Since the Sukesh didn't have the money to fill the form, JEE and ahhhhh, he appeared in EAMCET and got admission to a technical college that is now closed. Thogaru's love for electronics grew when he found satisfaction and money in repairing and selling gadgets. “During my college days, I started buying, repairing, and selling cell phones and other electronic devices from friends that came much before the OLX. I knew electronics was my real calling, ”he said.
Soon he was working as a gaming test engineer in a Pune company earning 9,000 a month on a daily wage basis. “But the real turning point was when I started working at Cognizant Technology Solutions. There I experienced successes like never before. Within three months of joining, I got an offer to work as a business enabler and my innovations got awards too, ”he said.
Thogaru realized that marketing and operations that interest him and understand the dynamics of this business that he needed to pursue an MBA. “I dedicate almost 4-5 hours every day after the office for CAT preparation. I followed free YouTube channels like Takshzila Shikshak, Perfectly Achieved, Handa ka funda to clear my concepts, ”he said.
Thogaru achieved 90.74% percentile in CAT 2016 and was approved in IIM Rohtak's PGP. “After passing IIM, I will gain confidence in some companies. I want to start my own business in the electronic industry as I find India is dependent on China and other countries. I hope that I can make India self-sufficient electronic products, ”he said
