Fit inside and out: 9 natural remedies for wrinkles

Aloe vera

Aloe Vera is represented in various beauty products for a reason. The green sticks contain phytochemicals that prevent cell damage. Aloe Vera helps the skin to regenerate. The miracle plant cannot prevent the formation of wrinkles, but it can at least noticeably delay it. It is very easy to use: You simply cut off a leaf from a fresh plant and apply the gel from inside to the skin. Then leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can find the plant on the Internet or in selected department stores, such as IKEA.

Fiber, vitamin E, oleic acid, folic acid, calcium and zinc - all of this can be found in almonds. This sensational combination of nutrients slows down the aging process of the skin and thus delays the appearance of wrinkles. But almonds don't just make you beautiful from the inside. An almond face mask not only helps against wrinkles, but also makes dark circles disappear. To do this, mix a few ground almonds with warm water or milk and a little honey to form a thick paste that you leave on the skin for 15 minutes. Skin aging can also be delayed by gently massaging in almond oil.

Carrots also ensure beautiful skin inside and out. The contained beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A and this ensures greater collagen production. This protein cushions the skin from the inside and makes it smoother and firmer. Externally, carrots can act against wrinkles in the form of face masks. To do this, you boil them until soft, mash them and mix them with a little honey to make a paste. Then leave the carrot history mask on for half an hour before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is a real universal home remedy for the skin - and on a purely natural basis. The high fat content supplies the skin with plenty of moisture and makes it wonderfully soft. Coconut oil also contains many antioxidants that protect your skin from free radicals. You can also combine the skin-flattering properties of coconut oil with the positive effects of carrots against wrinkles in a face mask. Simply mix some carrot juice with coconut oil to a thick paste that you leave on the skin for ten minutes.

It is now well known that ginger is a super tuber when it comes to health. So it's hardly surprising that it also helps against wrinkles. The reason for the anti-wrinkle effect are the many antioxidants. They ensure that the body's own elastin is not broken down so quickly. The healthy bulb helps from the inside in the form of tea or simply grated and mixed with a spoonful of honey for breakfast. From the outside, ginger oil promotes blood circulation in the skin. But be careful when applying: If it gets into the eye, it will be uncomfortable. You can get ginger oil in the pharmacy. You can also mix it yourself from ginger and organic olive oil.

Our grandmothers already knew that lemons keep the skin firm. The citric acid sheds the skin and stimulates regeneration. Grandma's simple home remedy - namely, simply rub the skin with a sliced ‚Äč‚Äčlemon - you should use no more than twice a week, because the citric acid dries out the skin. A face mask made from lemon juice, an egg yolk and almond or coconut oil is gentler. Thanks to the oil, the mask even contains a second natural anti-wrinkle agent.

Quark is another food that isn't just for eating. Quark wraps are used, for example, against inflammation and quark is also a secret weapon in the case of sunburn. It not only cools pleasantly, the milk protein it contains also stimulates cell renewal and thus ensures that the skin regenerates faster. As a result, sunburn will soon be a thing of the past and this effect also helps against wrinkles. Quark also strengthens the protective acid mantle of the skin, making it more resistant. Quark is best used against wrinkles mixed with a splash of oil in the form of a face mask.

castor oil

In addition to its effects as a laxative, castor oil is also known as a home remedy for caring for scars. Because the rich oil keeps the skin elastic. This effect also helps to delay the appearance of expression lines. To do this, simply dab some castor oil with a cotton ball on the affected areas of the face and massage it in gently. Alternatively, you can use a good organic quality olive oil. Castor oil is a little richer, however.

Another anti-wrinkle food that may already be in your kitchen: The fruit acids contained in bananas are also said to have an anti-wrinkle effect. In this case, the yellow fruits are used as a face mask. To do this, you mash half a banana and mix it with some natural yoghurt and a teaspoon of honey. Sounds delicious? It is. You can enjoy unused leftovers. The mask, on the other hand, should be rinsed off with lukewarm water after 20 minutes of exposure.

Argan oil

The oil obtained from the fruits of the North African argan tree is considered a miracle weapon for beautiful skin. The Moroccan Berbers are said to have used it as a home remedy for skin and hair care centuries ago. The reason for the nourishing properties of argan oil is its unique composition of various fatty acids and antioxidants. It also contains a lot of the anti-aging vitamin E, which is said to slow down skin aging. Instead of your night cream, you can easily apply argan oil to your face in the evening after cleaning with your fingers. A few drops are enough.
