How does a girl lose her virginity

What is virginity?

Hymen: no evidence of virginity

You can't see or feel if someone is a virgin. Not even a doctor can do that.

The hymen is not evidence of virginity:

  • The hymen is not a membrane that closes the vagina. Therefore, the hymen does not completely tear when a woman has sexual intercourse for the first time.
  • A woman doesn't always bleed the first time she has sexual intercourse. Most women don't. When the hymen is very tight, a woman may bleed a little. Surgery to rebuild or restore the hymen very often makes no difference.
  • A woman cannot lose her virginity by using tampons during her menstrual period. If you want to feel more confident, you can use sanitary towels instead.
